This page explains who is behind this site, what data is processed when you use it, and what you can do about it. It is written from how the site actually works.

Who is responsible

What data is processed
Contact form. If you write to us through the form, we process the name, email address and message you send. They are used to reply to you, and for nothing else. The message lands in our mailbox: the site keeps no copy and has no contacts database.
Site chat. The text you type into the chat is sent to Anthropic, which generates the reply. The conversation is not stored anywhere: once you close the window, it is gone.
Enquiries from the chat. If you give the assistant your name and email and agree to have your enquiry passed on, those details and a summary of what you discussed reach us by email, exactly as if you had used the form. The assistant tells you before doing it and sends nothing if you do not agree. It writes the summary from the conversation; the conversation itself is still not stored.
Security. To prevent automated abuse, the IP address you connect from is used to limit how many messages can be sent, and is shared with Cloudflare to verify you are not a bot. That check lives in the server's memory and is discarded when it restarts.
To know how many people visit the site we use Umami, an analytics tool that runs on our own server and uses no cookies: it counts visits and page views without identifying you or following you across other sites. We use no tracking pixels and no advertising, and we do not build profiles or make automated decisions about you.
Why we may process it
Form data is processed because you chose to send it so we would reply: your consent and, if the enquiry moves forward, the steps prior to a possible contract.
Processing your IP address for security rests on our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and free of automated abuse.
Who else is involved, and where
Hostinger hosts the site and manages the domain. The server is located in Brazil.
Google runs the mailbox where form messages arrive.
Anthropic processes the chat text to generate replies. It is based in the United States.
Cloudflare provides the anti-bot verification.
This site is operated by a US company and its providers sit outside the European Union. If you write to us from the European Economic Area, your data is processed outside it. We work with providers that offer contractual safeguards for those transfers.
We do not sell or hand your data to anyone else.
How long it is kept
The messages you send stay in our mailbox for as long as they are useful to assist you, or while a commercial relationship exists. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to hand it over in a portable format. Write to info@dothecode.com and we will reply.
We honour those requests wherever you are, regardless of which law happens to cover your case.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and believe we did not handle your request properly, you can complain to the data protection authority of your country of residence.
Site content
The text, code and design of this site are ours. The projects we show are published within the scope agreed with each client; where the agreement does not allow identifying them, the case is told without a name or any details that would make them recognisable.
